Savoring what you have…what you are given…
I think so many photographers yearn for more…more equipment, more sales, more accolades, more… It’ the way of the world though, isn’t it. Everytime I scratch off a lottery ticket, I yearn for more too…
Last night when I got into bed, I reflected on my little house…the one we started in so many years ago. How I had wanted a bigger house, a bigger and better kitchen…Oh I had a list that was pretty long through the years.
And yet… we have enough. Without winning the lottery, without the bigger and fancier house…and in my photography journey, sometimes without great light.
Here is another of the “enough” photos. I asked Dennis to stop here because I savored that tree…the starkness of the scene, and those amazing fence lines. Yes, the light was horrible…but hey, Andrew Wyeth chose to paint those skies into his paintings. Different choices..both great.
So today I will savor what I have…what I am given. Whether the light is good or not, I will take photos. My little kitchen will make great sourdough bread… I’ll be happy and try to eek the most out of this day………It’s a choice…..
Sending you best wishes for the day today…and everyday….
